Course Context: This course extends the knowledge already gained from 'FMS Daily Tasks - Day 1' and 'FMS Financial Management - Day 2'. Day 3 concentrates on the links between Personnel and FMS to give staff salary commitments and the reports for SLT, Governors and general budget management. It also covers the monthly returns to the LA and reconciling to the LA tabulations.
This course explores the budget management functionality present within FMS and explains how to use this functionality to actively manage the school budget. Using FMS to accurately reflect the school budget and ensuring that the data in FMS remain a true reflection of the situation during the financial year are crucial to sound financial management. This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge of how to use FMS to accurately manage the budget.
Who should attend? Staff should have completed Day 1 and Day 2. Newly appointed staff with responsibility for the financial procedures in school (including reporting to SLT and Governors). Staff supporting the school bursar in the financial processes who are responsible for completing the monthly BA2 and reconciling to the monthly Tabs.
Pre-requisites: Participants should have attended 'FMS Daily Tasks - Day 1' and 'FMS Financial Management - Day 2'. A good working knowledge of FMS is required.
