Schools and academies must ensure adequate safety standards on educational visits and off site activities. This course will develop your knowledge of accepted good practise in managing outdoor learning and help you improve school practise in this area. Based on the Local Authorities guidance and the Outdoor Education Advisors Panel National Guidance this course provides a detailed briefing on the range of factors which need to be considered when planning school visits
The course follows the national framework for Educational Visit Co-ordinator training and considers:
- The role of outdoor learning and legal expectations
- Risk management and risk assessment
- Leader competence and visit planning processes
- School based approval systems
- Sources of information and guidance
At the end of the course participants will receive a course completion certificate.
